Taylor Made Diagnostics, a recipient of Inside Business Magazine’s Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards for 2008.

In partnership with Regent University’s School of Global Leadership and Entrepreneurship, Inside Business started an awards program that recognizes 12 entrepreneurs who have made significant accomplishments in Hampton Roads.

Taylor Made Diagnostics, owned by Carolyn Taylor, RN is a medical facility that provides industrial medicine. The company is located in the South Norfolk (SoNo) business district and was established in 1995.

The Rising 25 of 2008: The rising 25 acknowledges up-and-coming businesses from each of the five cities in South Hampton Roads. Congratulations to the following Chesapeake businesses!

JES Construction is the 2008 Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year winner for Chesapeake.

Jesse P. Waltz, president of JES Construction, specializes in structural repairs through the Hampton Roads region and basement waterproofing and refinishing through the State of Virginia.





Wartsila Defense (formerly Wartsila Lips, Inc.) of Finland expanded their propeller shop. Their expansion brings the total square footage of the facility to 63,500 including a new secured 3-story office building.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on October 6, 2008 at the site located at 3617 Koppens Way in the Cavalier Industrial Park.

Hampton Roads Security Corporation opened a new facility at 200 Research Drive in Chesapeake. HRSC is a licensed private security firm that specializes in armed and unarmed foot and vehicle patrols.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on November 5, 2008 at their new 4,200 square foot office and training facility.
